Income Replacement Benefits (IRB)

Covers 70 percent of your gross weekly income to a maximum of $400.00 per week, unless you purchased optional benefits, which may increase your benefit up to $1,000.00 per week.  Please contact your insurance broker to confirm if these benefits are part of your auto insurance policy. You may qualify for income replacement benefits if you were employed at the time of the accident, or have worked at least 26 weeks during the last 52 weeks prior to the accident, or were receiving Employment Insurance Benefits at the time of the accident. For the first week of disability, no benefits are payable if you are claiming income replacement benefits.  Weekly benefits are payable within 10 business days after the insurance company receives your complete application.

Students

You are entitled to receive up to a maximum of $15,000 for lost educational expenses, provided that you were unable to continue your academic program as a result of the injuries sustained in the motor vehicle accident.

Non-Earner Benefit

You are entitled to $185.00 per week, after 4 weeks from the onset of disability if you suffer a complete inability to carry on a normal life, and do not qualify for income replacement benefits.
